How Much Does HVAC Repair Cost?

So, maybe you wake up in the middle of the night and realize it is downright cold in your home. Or, perhaps you arrive home after a long day at work and realize you still need your coat. Either scenario is no fun at all and likely means your furnace is in need of maintenance, repair or even replacement.

Associated Heating & Air has served the Anaheim and Orange County, CA areas since 1990, and there is not an HVAC issue we have not seen and dealt with over the years.  One of the main questions we get asked is: how much does it cost to fix my furnace? Well, that depends on the problem at hand. Here are some common furnace issues and their repairs:

  1. Dirty filters. This can restrict airflow and even cause damage to your blower. If there is one thing that you take away from this blog, this is it: change your filters regularly.
  2. No heat. This can be caused by several factors, including a lack of power/gas to the system, malfunctioning thermostat, faulty pilot light/electronic ignitor, bad heat sensor or bad blower.
  3. Blower continuously runs. This may be caused by a faulty limit switch or simply a failed blower. Either way, time to call the professionals.
  4. Noisy operation. If you hear rumbles, clanks or bangs when your HVAC system is running, this usually indicates something (fan, blower, heat exchanger, etc.) is broken or loose. Immediate attention is required.

Many of these problems can be detected before they become serious threats, and the best way to do that is to schedule regular maintenance. In addition to the cost of repairing/replacing the furnace components above, your heating system may be costing you in other ways, such as elevated utility bills. This could be the result of an aging system (is your furnace more than 15-20 years old?) that has seen its share of wear and tear. Older systems are also much less efficient than newer models. All of this could lead you to the realization that it is more cost-efficient in the long run to replace your old system. If that is the case, give Associated a call today and learn all about our Lennox heating system options and our installation process. We can also talk to you about our financing options and potential rebates for installations. And don’t forget to follow us on social media for all the latest news!
